The Colony of Coastside Artists Open Studios

It's here! After 6 months of planning and work The Annual Colony of Coastside Artists Open Studios is happening this weekend!
Today and tomorrow from 10am to 5pm, 43 Coastal artists in 24 locations will invite guests into their homes and studios to present their best artworks.
I am participating again this year and will be at Patt Sheldon's studio with 3 other artists at 238 Palma street in El Granada.  The artist include : Patt Sheldon with her colorful fiberarts and sophisticated jewelry, Deanna Adams with her coast inspired sunlight catchers and Lisa Warns with her beautiful Acrylic painting, Mixed media and photography.   I will be offering my usual mix of the unusual with a dash of strange on the side.  New for me this year are miniature apothecary domes,
Steampunk , visionary and Memento Mori jewelry, small Calacas figures and shrines and Memory shrines like the piece at the top of my page.

This year again we are offering a raffle to win a free piece of art.  All you do is pick up a passport at any participating studio (that's most of them) get it stamped at 8 studio locations-turn in your passport at your last studio location and your name will be automatically entered into the drawing!

CoCa Open Studios continues to grow every year and features the work of the best artists the coast has to offer.  It also gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the artists about their work -their vision and process.  Each studio will be furnished with food and drink as well.  Why not venture out this weekend and be surrounded by the warmth and glow of art?

If you want to find out more about Open Studios or print up a map of all the studio locations please go to our website at www.colonyofcoastsideartists.com.

See you soon!
