Goodbye to Luna's Memories

Hello everyone,
I just got back from a goodbye gathering at Luna's Memories. There were quite a few people there to say goodbye. I had a few last thoughts that I wanted to share. Luna's was open for only six years. But what an incredible six years it has been!
It became apparent during this evening that for all of the people there tonight that Luna's Memories was more than just a store. It was family. Luna's saved many of our lives and made us artists. Luna's was our support system. When I say Luna's I mean Craig and Maureen Barton. Because they were Luna's Memories. They made a magical, wonderful space for many of us with their warmth, humour and openess. To Craig and Maureen: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Even though Luna's cannot continue it was a resounding success and more than a success. It was a miracle.
To the Luna's family: I love you all. Thank you for making me an artist.

Last class at Luna's Memories

Greetings everyone,
Last night I gave the last class at Luna's Memories-Mystic Gesso. Even though it was bittersweet I had an incredible group of Students. I wanted to share their work with all of you. Aren't these works fabulous? It never ceases to amaze me that I can give one set of instructions to a class of students and every single work created will be totally different and totally unique.
Enjoy!

Class this weekend

Greetings everyone!
I wanted to remind all of you that I am teaching Beginning Collage at Scrapbook Territory in Berkeley this Sunday the 26th. This will be the full day version of my Beginning collage class.
Class starts at 11:00am until 4:00pm. The class fee for all day is $55.00. This class is the perfect primer for those that are really interested in collage but just don't know where to start. We will go through Art surfaces, Acrylic paints and mediums, very basic composition with three luscious backgrounds and then create 3 small collages using the products and principles we just went through. You will also receive a collage pack of goodies to use and to take home. For all of you already creating collages but find yourself in a rut this class could also give you a different perspective and some new techniques to incorporate into your art.
If you are interested in signing up for this class please call Scrapbook Territory at 510 559-9929.
I also want to remind you that Luna's Memories in El Granada will be having their Art Flea Market and Garage sale this Saturday the 25th. I and other artists and instructors will be there from 9:00am to 3:00pm selling vintage supplies and some art works! Luna's will be continuing
their 75% off sale as well.
Remember this will be the last Flea Market before Luna's Memories closes their doors on Thursday April 30th. So don't wait! Come down this weekend to fill in your supplies and say hello.

Greetings everyone!
After teaching both Saturday and Sunday I'm pooped! But before I crash for a few hours I wanted to take a minute to thank the staff of Art Max and Scrapbook Depot for allowing me to invade these wonderful shops with all of my stuff! It was an honor to teach at both locations.
Both classes created incredible collages and I wanted to take a few minutes to show them to you
From Art Max in Seaside:
And From the Scrapbook Depot in San Carlos:
Aren't these works exceptional?

Beginning Collage classes this weekend

Greetings to you all!
This weekend I will be teaching Beginning Collage classes in two locations. The first on Saturday the 18th is at a wonderful Art supply store in Seaside Ca. called ArtMax. This is the perfect location to buy all of your favorite Golden Products! Class begins at 11:00am and runs until 2:30 pm. Please email me at connie@isbjorn.com if you would like to sign up.
On Sunday the 19th I will be at Scrapbook Depot in San Carlos ca. Class starts at 12:30 and runs until 3:30. Please call Scrapbook Depot at 650 592-2767 to sign up.
For both of these locations I have split up my usual day long Beginning Collage 1 class into two sessions. The class will have a slower pace and be easier on the pocketbook. This is the perfect class for those artists that want to learn collage starting at the most basic level. You will also get a really cool collage pack of goodies supplied by yours truly! Now what hoarder wouldn't want that?
So get out this weekend, check out both of these great stores and learn to collage at the same time.
See you in class!
