Hello everyone! After and exhausting weekend of cleaning and more cleaning I am ready to post my May/June classes. I also want to announce the 2nd Coastside Mixed Media showing for the entire month of June at MCoffee in Half Moon Bay! Our first showing last year was a great success so keep watching for upcoming information on our second showing. Here are my May/ June classes. Please note that the June schedule is not complete. Saturday May 8th Where: Scrap-It in Santa Cruz Class: Shrink Art #4-Wood and Bone Description: Don’t you love the look of old ivory or bone scrimshaw? I always think of Tall ships and mermaid images on ivory. Wood and Bone. In this 4th Shrink Art class you will learn the techniques to make white shrink plastic look like bone or ivory scrimshaw and almond colored shrink plastic look like wood. You can choose to make wood or ivory items or mix the two for a stunning combination that can be made into jewelry or decorative items for collage, cards or scrapbooks. Please bring a pair of scissors-all other materials will be supplied. Time: 11:00 to 2:00pm Fee: 35.00 If you are interested in signing up for this class please call Scrap-it at 831 475-2380 Sunday May 9th-Mothers Day-no classes Saturday May 15th Where: ArtMax in Seaside Class: Marvelous Molding Paste #1-Regular Molding Paste Description: In this 6th technique in the Textural Effects series we will Experiment with Regular Molding Paste. Regular Molding paste creates a smooth porcelain like surface that holds peaks and lines. Like Gel Medium it can also be stamped into or stenciled onto your surface. It can then be combined with collage images to produce a unique work of Art that is all your own. Sunday May 23rd Where: Scrapbook Depot in San Carlos Class: Shrink Art #5-Carved Jade Description: Who wouldn’t want a piece of beautiful precious carved Jade for Good Luck? In this 5th in a series of Shrink Art classes we will learn how to make lavender and apple green jade. Each student will have the option of making a pair of earrings or a pendent or maybe one of both! Come and Play! We will stamp into, draw freehand and drip with gesso. Will you choose to color your Gesso or leave it white? Come and Explore! In this third class in the Altered Book Series we will learn two different techniques to add pockets to your Altered Book. And then the fun begins because now you have to fill them. Remember you can never have enough stuff! Items to bring: Your altered books Kit.
