May Class schedule

Greetings Everyone,

I thought that it was time to finally send you my May class schedule. I regret to say that I still have not found a place here in Half Moon Bay to teach classes yet. However there are a couple of leads that will take a little more time to confirm. When I have a place to teach I will post it asap. If you are interested in signing up for a class please note the instructions on each date below.

Sat. May 9th-Beginning Collage 1 part 1

Where: Scrap-it in Santa Cruz****New Store***

Class Description: Using the principles of composition we will explore ways to break through artistic barriers to discover the infinite possibilities of you! We will start by learning about: Art surfaces, Mediums and Acrylic Paints. We will then progress to a simple background and finally create a small collage using the techniques and principles discussed in class. Please bring your favorite scissors and paintbrushes. All other materials are supplied including instructions and a large collage pack of items to use in class or take home.

Sat. May 16th-Beginning Collage 1 part 2

Where:Art Max in Seaside Class Description: In this second part of Beginning Collage 1 we will be making 3 more progressively textured backgrounds. After that we will spend the time reviewing and creating collages using the elements of composition learned in Part 1. What to bring: Your favorite scissors and paintbrushes, your collage packs from part 1 and your finished collage from part 1. Time: 11:00 to 2:30. Fee: $35.00 per person. Sat. May 23rd-Mystic Gesso

Where: Scrapbook U-Fremont Class Description: In this first of my series of classes exploring the use of texture in collage in more depth, the student will be creating with Gesso. In particular the class will explore the opaque properties of Gesso for a misty, shabby look that makes collage Magic. Also introduced in the class is a second texture medium called White Opaque Flakes. What to bring: Your favorite scissors and paintbrushes. Sunday May 24th-Beginning Collage 2

Where: Scrapbook Territory in Berkeley Class Description:In this continuation of Beginning Collage 1 we will explore ways to bring more texture to your collages using everyday household materials. Then we will create collages using a couple of my favorite compositional styles while learning some new tips and tricks along the way! Please bring a pair of small scissors and a variety of paintbrushes. All other materials will be supplied including instructions and a large collage pack of items to use in class or take home.
